This anime series is about two Ninja clans, manipulated by the government, to wage their lives and love in a war that benefits the selfish ‘nobles’.

It’s really a tragedy. Amidst all the awesome animation and fight scenes, the love story between the two clan chiefs, and the misunderstanding that led to the downfall of both clans, it was a very sad story.About the ninjas… There are some really freaky ninjas in the show, like the spider guy, the hairy dude, the old man who can extend any body parts and the guy who can dissolve to mud. But all that just adds to the darkness of the story.

Imagine Survivor, where one person gets voted out weekly, but in this case, in every episode, there are people from the main cast dying, getting killed mercilessly. You never know what’s gonna happen in the next episodes.

And unlike other anime or shows, there are numerous times, in Basilisk, where the plan never goes well. Everything screws up with catastrophic consequences.

Also, the thing that makes Basilisk different is that there are really no telling who is the Good, and who’s the Bad. It’s all human emotions being played around like a game by a cruel weaver of fates.Scene from the live action movie, SHINOBI

Then when I told crazy Ivan about Basilisk, he told me that it’s been made into a feature film, called SHINOBI. I’ve seen parts of it at work, coz some guys were watching it on the computer. But I thought it was a corny show with fancy costumes and weird magic shit. If I’d known that it’s based on Basilisk, I’d have watched it!

I really wanna watch SHINOBI, coz’ it’s got Erika Sawajiri playing one of the fatal female ninjas! She’s that damn cute girl from the One Litre of Tears show that I mentioned earlier on the website.

Be warned though, this anime is targeted for adults and you can expect gore and adult themes in it.

Anyway, I really recommend Basilisk, coz’ it’s really unpredictable and different from most anime. There are 24 episodes, but I’ve only managed to see 23. Couldn’t find the 24th anywhere. Damn. But I think I have an idea how it ends by watching the SHINOBI clips.

I just love it when a comic or animation that I like gets adapted into a movie!

The morning after I watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and I’m still playing their fight scenes in my head.

The movie is freakin’ awesome man! Cowabunga dude! Totally cool! Radical!

When the intro starts, me, the pirate and Joe Kool were as if transformed back into our primary school selves, coming home from school, switching on the TV and catching our favourite heroes fighting bad guys on TV.

Pure, simple, clean, kickass fun!

None of that new style Ninja Turtle crap. It’s back to basics, with their pupil-filled eyes, and their original colourful characters… oooh it’s so GOOD!

Donatello was the brainy one, as usual, although he kinda took a back seat on this one. Mikey… priceless humour. You can just watch the movie solely coz’ of him. And he don’t just make lame crappy jokes anymore. Freakin’ priceless. Then, the centre stage characters of Raphael and Leo… well, won’t spoil it for you. They all rock.. there’s no way for me to say which turtle’s the best.

It’s got elements for viewers from all walks of life. From skaters to riders, and the superbly sleek animation is a pleasure to watch.

I can’t find anything I didn’t like about this one! Turtles POWER!

I don’t have a particular reason to make this entry, but seeing that I’m extremely bored and my brain’s this close to switching off… I figured that this might just be a good thing. I’m not even making any sense anymore.

Anyways, This is one big praying mantis! It’s in my house. I thought that it was a grasshopper all along, till I showed the picture to some friends and was enlightened about how mantis have those long thick arm thingie.

My NS-life has pretty much ended, and I don’t really have a big bang picture to describe my whole experience in one captured moment, but this will do fine. I was already clearing when this happened. That’s Edwin, smiling crazily. He’s the super senior who disrupted, and came back when I was about to leave. And the victim here is the Kenneth, poor guy was talking to his girlfriend when some evil souls came to him and wrapped him in duct tape. See how helpless he is? Hahaha. Priceless. Should’ve been there.

So, what’s been up eh?

Staying home is freakin’ boring. If not for the lepaks, I’d gone crazy being indoors 24/7. Still sitting on my ass about getting a job. Seeing that school is starting soon and all. It’s just an excuse to delay finding work. I guess I’ll really panic and start looking when my bank account is running dry, which is quite inevitable, at the rate I’m going.

Been working on a project from mrlobaloba. Trying to make a little talk show thing going on, using very basic forms of moviemaking. It’s on hiatus, coz’ I’m waiting for his ‘voice-overs’. I’m still looking for the magical way to transform the voice into that cool, deep and commanding voice found in movie trailers. I was told it’s reverb, but I can’t get it to work.
