The Deathly Hallows

I’ve spent the past three days reading this gold.

I haven’t read a single book since umm… book 6. After Wiki-ing on Half-Blood Prince to refresh my memory, I started on the thick novel on Monday.

The story was engrossing, as expected, and just like the previous 6 books I’ve read, the book is very difficult to put down. And by Wednesday afternoon, I flipped past the last page. Somewhere inside me, I’d wished the book would never end… that the last chapter, the epilogue, wouldn’t be published… that there’d be another year in Hogwarts with different adventures.

It’s sad to see an end to a fantastic epic.

Mini Spoiler : Highlight to read.

When I came across that Dobby died, I was most sad. Previous deaths didn’t really affect me. But the poor little elf we all came to love since book 2… it’s just hard to accept how the little creature could be the sacrifice…

The other death most regretted is Tonks, Nymphadora Tonks. Didn’t really care for her much before the 5th Movie was released. But once they’ve put a face to her character, she’d become really likable, and to read about her death, with her husband, right after they had their first child… Man, that’s really sad.

Some people’d spoilt the book for me. And no thanks to them. But the ending wasn’t what I expected at all.

It was a really nice end to the whole story of Harry Potter.

I can’t wait for the 6th and 7th movie to release. I don’t know if I’ll ever find a better read elsewhere…

oh yea… credits to Joe Kool for lending me the book

I had to squeeze this comic in. It’s bloody hilarious. Read it! Sinfest is awesome!

No School

No school today. I should be preparing for thursday’s lab. Instead, I do this.

Just a doodle. Since I got no ideas for a comic. Trying to play with perspective shit. I think I failed rather miserably.

and who says Luna’s not goth?

Harry Potter & the Order of the Goth Chicks

I meant.. order of the Phoenix.

I’ve read the book, years ago, and although I’ve forgotten some details, I remembered that the story isn’t as brief as the movie’s adaptation.

Even so, the movie dragged for a butt aching 3 hours. But it’s quite not bad actually. Thanks to the best types of goth chicks ever: witches.

You know how girls are always trying to be goth and stuff, but this movie featured some who are goth not because they try to be, but because they are. They’re witches. And they’re cool.

This here is Nymphadora Tonks. When I was reading about her, I never imagined her to be so cool as portrayed in the movie. Cool how she changes her hair colour following her emotions.

A potential goth chick, Luna Lovegood. I thought she’d be this zany, Trelawney-like girl who’s half crazy. But she turned out to be like.. this. So, it’s cool too.

I even liked Bellatrix Lestrange. Yeah, she’s evil and ugly and all. But she’s goth! And have you seen her in Fight Club? That’s cool!

When I saw Tonks in the movie, I was really expecting to see the Tonks/Lupin chemistry going on. But there were none. So that’s a minus.

And the other thing I really like about the movie are the usage of dark black figures!

Unhooded dementors aren’t as scary as when they’re hooded. But the flowing black smoky cloaky thingy is really cool.

Death Eaters apparating into black smoke and wisping through the air is also a fantastic sight. And the concept of the death eaters… I love it.

Is this really cool or what! Imagine this mask, cloaked and hooded in black, towering over you while you sleep, preying on your dreams…

The final battle scene’s pretty cool too.
